In 1995, the Sierra de las Nieves was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO. In the area, you can go hiking up hills, and biking along excellent paths. You can discover the beautiful flora and fauna of unique climate zones and view archaeological discoveries, some dating back to the Stone Age.
About 45km (40 minutes) from the Malaga Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport:
- Take Motorway A340 towards Malaga. After a few km, before arriving in Malaga, follow the signs for Ronda Oeste, Sevilla and Granada, and turn onto Motorway A7 / (E15) towards Malaga.
- Take exit Parque Tecnologico, Cartama, Universidad - to get on Motorway A357.
- Follow A 357, and pass Cartama.
- Near Pizarra / Alora (KM42) take MA 404 (A354), towards Casarabonela / Alozaina.
- After 8km, you pass Casarabonela and follow MA 403 (A354) to Alozaina.
- Take the entrance to Alozaina, follow the street up to the main square and you'll find Posada del Rio next to the town hall (Ayuntamiento).
There is no private car park but we will ensure that your car is well parked.
From Sevilla and Cordoba:
- Take the motorway A92 towards Malaga.
- Near Antequera, take exit 146 to A 384, in direction of Campillos.
- Once in Campillos, take the A 357 towards Malaga until Pizarra / Alora, where you take MA 404 (A354), towards Casarabonela.
- After 8km take MA 403 (A354) to Alozaina.
- Take the first entrance to Alozaina and follow the street up the hill, to the main square where you'll find Posada del Rio next to the Town Hall (Ayuntamiento).
From Sevilla or Cordoba you can also go to Ronda, and from there take A366 via El Burgo y Yunquera, to Alozaina. In the entrance of Alozaina you follow the main street through the village until the main square, where you will find Posada del Rio next to the Town Hall.
