The hotel is licensed for Civil Wedding Ceremonies and is also a venue for meetings and conferences.

Food & Beverages

Restaurant 1563, named after the year the hotel was built, offers elegant and informal dining. Local seafood dishes are a speciality, together with traditional Sunday roast lunches. Vegetarian dishes are available as are special dietary dishes by prior arrangement. It is open to residents and non-residents for morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Dress code: smart-casual (no shorts). For a lighter bite, try the bar, where there is a wide range of specially selected wines from local brewers, Adnams. Dress code: smart-casual (no shorts). During the Aldeburgh Festival and the August proms at Snape Maltings, the hotel can provide pre-concert meals or late suppers. Delicious picnic hampers can also be arranged during the August proms.

The hotel hosts wedding receptions and private functions throughout the year, which may cause some disruption to services. Please contact the hotel if you would like further information.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
