When you arrive at Nordlys Hotel you will notice our unique rock collection. The distance from Nordlys Hotel to the rock carvings, valued throughout, which is a world heritage site, is 3 km. The Nordly's Hotel friendly staff is always available to help. The owner of Nordlys Hotel has, and above all, over a long period of time, collected rocks from all over the world. There is also a television if you would like to watch. You will be able to use a computer that is connected to the Internet free of charge. You can experience many different things in Alta both in summer and winter. In the lounge you will also be able to order drinks or have a glass of beer. In the summer you can experience the world famous rock carvings, very much appreciated, the beautiful Alta Canyon or boat trips both on the famous Alta River or at sea. Some possibilities in the winter might be a dogsled-ride under the northern light, valued throughout, snowmobile ride or a visit to an Ice Hotel. The Hotel has been fully renovated in 1990, highly regarded, and in 2004 we build a new section to Nordlys Hotel. If you would like to go on any of these tours, and above all, our staff will help you the best we can so that you will be able to have these experiences. The rooms that are facing forward have a beautiful view, very much appreciated, and the rooms facing the other side are nice and quiet rooms. We have high standard in all our rooms, valued throughout, and all of them have private bathroom with toilet and shower. Some rooms even have access to the Internet. There are also cable-TV, and above all, radio and telephone in all the rooms. The restaurant, very much appreciated, Gjestestua, serves traditional Norwegian homemade cooking. If you would like to relax after a strenuous day you can do that in our sauna or in our whirlpool. This means that we serve new and traditional. We are one of 33 restaurants in Northern Norway that is part of the Artic Menu network.
