The Ballroom
The Ballroom is the essence of luxury and style, featuring exquisite Austrian chandeliers and murals of early Singapore. High ceilings, arched openings and french doors give it an airy spaciousness.

Casuarina Suite
The Casuarina Suite is named after Somerset Maugham's volume of short stories, 'The Casuarina Tree'. The elegant decor and tastefully appointed furnishings are designed for maximum style and comfort. Suitable as a meeting facility or to host a social occasion, the room can be divided into two smaller spaces when required.

East India Rooms
Located in the oldest part of the Hotel, the East India Rooms is the most formal of the entertainment areas, with an Edwardian ambience that lend that special air of elegance to formal events.

Palm Garden
The Palm Garden is a delightful outdoor setting featuring an ornate cast-iron fountain dating back to the late 1890's. One of only two in Singapore, it stands more than six metres high and is the focal point of the garden. The Palm Garden is available for private functions.

Lady Sophia Suite
The Lady Sophia Suite is name in honour of Lady Sophia Hull, second wife of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. Situated next to one of Raffles' lush green gardens, the suite is ideal for meetings and exhibitions.

Located on the second storey of Raffles Hotel Arcade, adjacent to the world-famous Long Bar, Long Bar Steakhouse cleverly combines steakhouse dining with the nostalgia and simple honest flavours of early plantation fare. Inspired by legendary exploits of Frank Cavendish, an adventurous planter who retreated to Raffles Hotel every weekend in the early 1900s as a respite from the rigours of plantation life in Malaya, the house specialties are succulent prime cuts of meats and seafood, marinated with the flavours of the Orient.
Among the restaurant?s most well-kept secrets are the recipes for Doris? "Dilly Bread" and her famous home -style mustard pickles, served at the beginning of each meal.

• Orchard Road : You haven't shopped in Singapore if you haven't been to Orchard Road. This world famous stretch is the favorite shopping belt in the city. Whatever your budget, you can almost always find something you want. Most shopping centers will have an anchor tenant (usually a major department store) and other smaller retailers. Gems for the picking range from designer labels, to mid-range goods, to budget items. • Singapore Art Museum : The Singapore Art Museum at Bras Basah Road, just across from the Singapore History Museum, is housed in a beautifully restored school building (the former St. Joseph's Institution). The Singapore Art Museum's state-of-the-art galleries feature paintings, sculptures and installations drawn from its 4000-strong permanent collection of Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art as well as touring 'blockbusters' shows.
• Clark Quay : Situated along Singapore River, Clarke Quay is a festival village combining entertainment, food and shopping housed in restored warehouses and shophouses, some dating back to the late 1880's. There is also a ride in "bumboat train", which uses Disney style "animatronics" special effect techniques to tell the tales of Singapore history.
• CHIJMES : CHIJMES (pronounced "chimes") started as a convent, girls' school and orphanage in 1854. The convent was closed in 1983 and declared a national heritage site. CHIJMES Hall, the restored chapel, provides a spectacular backdrop for musicals, recitals and other theatrical performances. One of the last few cloistered convents in the world, the fine gothic architecture offers you great photographic opportunities and is well worth a visit.
• The Singapore Zoological Gardens/ The Night Safari : Acclaimed by Zoologists and tourists as one of the best zoos, to be found anywhere, Singapore's zoo is set in 170 acres of parkland next to a lake. There are more than 1,600 animals in residence, 50% of the 170 different spices, are endangered species from Southeast Asia. The Night Safari, opened in 1994, is the world's first and only night zoo which provide a rare opportunity to see nocturnal animals in their active state.
• Singapore History Museum : The rich heritage of the island is presented here through trends and developments leading to modern-day Singapore. The history of Singapore is told through 20 dioramas, William Farquhar's collection of drawings, a Perabakan house, Fort Canning, Tiger Balm King's decorative carvings and a secret society lodge. The museum is housed in a grand colonial building topped by a giant silver dome which was built in 1887.
• Chinatown : The ethnic districts of Chinatown, Kampong Glam and Little India are testimonies to the island-nation's rich ethnic, cultural and historical heritage. The districts are home to religious monuments as well as quaint shophouses -- from traditional herbs to textiles to decorative items and antiques. Try the Tanjong Pagar area for traditional teashops, painted masks, waxed paper umbrellas, lacquerware. Then wander over to Smith Street, Trengganu Street, Temple Street and Pagoda Street where the streets are at their narrowest and you'll find some of the best bargains.
• Little India : Best seen on foot, Little India along Serangoon Road is awash with the scents and sights of the subcontinent. Stroll along this road and the neighboring alleyways to take in the quaint old-fashioned shops selling spices, sarees, trinkets, Indian jewlries and daily products used by Indian households.
• Kampong Glam & Arab Street : Nothing in Singapore beats Arab Street for bazaar-style shopping with true ethnic character. The street itself is a riot of colorful textiles from all over Asia at very low prices. Here you can browse in hole-in-the-wall shops, haggle to your heart's content and come away with the most delightful purchases at bargain prices. The little streets in this area formed the historical focal point of Muslim life in Singapore.
• Colonial Singapore : The area of the North of the Singapore River is filled with colonial building built during the Britishrule - Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, Parliament House, the Supreme Court, City Hall, Singapore Cricket Club, St. Andrew Cathedral and Raffles Hotel. Most of the buildings have been restored to their former glory.
