The Windsor Hotel has four distinctive function rooms, all of them decorated in Victorian style, that can comfortably accommodate meetings and gatherings for up to 350 guests. Each room has a different size, and can hold from 20 to 120 people. All of them are equipped with high speed Internet service. Rooms can be set-up in theatre, boardroom or classroom style, and devices such as slide projectors and screens can be provided. As a full service hotel with restaurant, bar, spa, banquet and meeting rooms, the Windsor is the perfect setting for retreats, seminars and conventions. At the Windsor guests have all the facilities and amenities that they need without leaving the hotel. The Windsor Hotel*s luxurious Victorian decoration and ambiance offer the perfect setting for a classic, elegant wedding reception. The catering staff will help in the execution of every detail, from rehearsal dinner to flowers and champagne in the Bridal Suite. Some of the wedding-specific arrangements include customized menus, honeymoon packages, private banquet rooms and other services. The Windsor Grand Dining Room is often transformed into a beatiful ballroom for wedding receptions. The Windsor is a great place for anniversaries, reunions, rehearsal dinners and bridesmaids* luncheons, and receptions in general. The Windsor*s highly professional staff caters to all of the clients* needs and the hotel offers different settings and custom-designed menus for all occasions. All of the Windsor banquet rooms are historically correct in style and decoration. Each room has a different touch of color and special design to match different tastes. Guests can choose from the pink and lavender colors of the Ladies* Tea Parlor to the classic Victorian blue, burgundy and gold colors in the Dayton Room.
Recreation Information
The convivial Floyd*s Pub is a quaint neighborhood pub overlooking Victorian downtown Americus. The Pub was named after an employee that worked at the Windsor for 40 years. Guests can sip Mint Juleps while rocking peacefully on the famous front verandah, take advantage of the wireless high-speed Internet access or just sit and observe the happenings from the golden-oak-trimmed, three-story atrium lobby. The Quality Inn Bar & Lounge is open from Monday through Saturday, and features DJ, karaoke and live bands playing all kinds of music, for all tastes. The Lounge also features a Hospitality and Service Night every Monday, with specials on drinks for employees of the service industry. Tuesday Nights are Ladies Night, and ladies only enjoy specials on drinks. The Rylander Theatre in Americus, GA The Rylander Theatre reopened in 1991 after a $4.8 million restoration project. It now features shows and musicals, bringing a new era of enrichment to the lives of residents and visitors of Americus. Enveloped in the charm of an early 1900s vaudeville theatre is a state of the art technology to support live productions, corporate presentations and conference activity. The theatre offers regular tours of the facility, film and video presentations, live performances, theatre and organ concerts, and a host of local touring presentations. Among the different recreation activities in Americus, golfing is one of the most popular. Americus has four different golf courses to suit the needs of professional or amateur golfers: -Brickyard Plantation- 9 miles away from the Windsor Hotel, on Hwy 280E -Wolf Creek- 6 miles from the Windsor off Hwy 280 -Georgia Southwestern State University Golf and Conference Center- 1.8 miles from the Windsor -Georgia Veterans State Park Golf Course- 30 miles away on Hwy 280 W, in Cordele. Hunting is also a popular recreation activity in Americus. Four plantations in the area offer a great environment for quail, deer or turkey hunting- -Omanga Plantation- 10 miles from Americus -Wise Olde Pine Plantation- 12 miles -Brook Hollow Plantation- 5 miles -Danfair Hunting Plantation- 12 miles in Plains -Bird in Hand Plantation - 13 miles in Smithville Georgia Veterans State Park: Located in 30 miles from Americus, in nearby Cordele. Established as a memorial to U.S. veterans, this park features a museum with aircraft, armored vehicles, uniforms, weapons, medals and other items from the Revolutionary War through the Gulf War. The SAM Shortline Excursion Train runs through the park on its way from Cordele to Plains, allowing riders to see an antique telephone museum, Habitat for Humanity's Global Village, President Jimmy Carter's boyhood farm and other attractions. An 18-hole golf course and pro shop, along with 8,600-acre Lake Blackshear, make this one of Georgia's most popular state parks.
Restaurant / Dining Information
-The Award-Winning Windsor Grand Dining Room allows guests and visitors to savor a sophisticated yet unpretentious dining experience in traditional Southern surroundings. A Southern buffet luncheon is served Monday through Friday, and on Sundays a special buffet is offered. Gourmet dinner is served every night, except for Sundays. The chef*s cuisine reflects specialties from around the country, as well as favorites from the local region. At the Grand Dining Room guests will experience a fine-dine and relaxing ambiance, with great food and wines. The Grand Dining Room is also a wonderful example of Victorian elegance. The tile floor is the original floor from when the hotel was first opened, and it is so well-restored that the local historical society will not allow the floor to be covered with wall-to-wall carpeting. The furnishings are reproductions, including the wrought-iron footed tables, reflecting the style of the Victorian period. Due to its beauty and splendor, the Grand Dining Room is often the site of weddings and receptions. - The Quality Inn Hillside Cafe & Family Restaurant, located on HWY 19 S, offers a delicious Southern Buffet for lunch Monday-Friday and on Sundays. The menu includes fried chicken, cheese grits, Southern style vegetables, salads and delicious desserts. The Restaurant is also open for dinner a la carte Monday though Friday, and for breakfast seven days a week. - Forsyth Bar & Grill located in Historic Downtown Americus. - The Station: The Station is located in the downtown area on W Lamar just a few doors down from the Rylander Theater. - Ryans Family Steak House: Located on Hwy. 280 on the edge of town. - La Hacienda: La Hacienda is a family owned authentic Mexican restaurant. - Main Moon Chinese Buffet: Located on North Prince Street just off of E Lamar and one block from the downtown.
