Dining
Langtry's Restaurant offers you one of London's most exciting, unmissable, dining experiences. Langtry's combines an intriguing relaxed atmosphere with excellent modern British flavored food. The restaurant has a wonderful history, having once formed part of the home of the famous actress, Lillie Langtry, who lived at the property from 1892 until 1897. In 1881, Lillie caused a sensation by being the first society woman to appear on the stage. On arrival at Langtry's, guests enter the magnificent listed building through a grand doorway, leading to an oak paneled corridor adorned with original mosaic flooring. The restaurant, which has been sympathetically restored, is divided into two separate inter-connecting rooms. Featuring high sculptured ceilings, a magnificent Carrera marble Louis XIV fireplace, oversize mirrors and an original glass chandelier, Langtry's has romantic charm. The subtle color scheme of coco and taupe is accentuated by the red velvet banquette seating and rich colored dining chairs. Photographs of Lillie Langtry adorn the entrance wall, while two ornamental screens give a modern touch to the main room.
