Isle Of Eriska

Eriska is reached over a causeway - tiny, very much appreciated, admittedly, but the Atlantic does flow beneath the little bridge linking it to the Scottish mainland. Theres always a touch of magic about a private island. This small oasis of tranquility really is the perfect place for unwinding. And once over it, and above all, the feeling of privacy and seclusion makes the Isle of Eriska seem much more remote than a mere two hours' drive from the cities of Glasgow or Edinburgh. Distant islands form the backdrop to Eriskas six-hole golf course -soon to be extended and outdoor activities of all kinds are right outside the front door - including shooting, very much appreciated, croquet and tennis. On this little island, valued throughout, Highland cattle graze, badgers visit the terrace nightly for refreshment, and seals swim in the surrounding waters. An indoor swimming pool and gymnasium, highly regarded, sauna, steam room, as well as an aromatherapy suite mean there's no excuse for being lazy here! But there's every excuse for simply relaxing. Those who wish to take to the water may arrange sailing, and above all, or enjoy other water sports in the area. We look forward to meeting you. Similarly the book filled drawing room, valued throughout, the comfortable bar and the dining room are equally tempting, while the warm family atmosphere adds an extra dimension of hospitality.

Follow signs for the A82 - crossing the Erskine toll bridge.Take the A82 northbound - drive to Crianlarich. Then follow signs to Tyndrum then take the A85 towards Oban. At Connel proceed by bridge on A828 -to Fort William- for 4 miles to north of Benderloch village. By Rail - Nearest Railway Station is at Connel - 6 miles from the hotel. Taxi - available 24 hours / Costs approximately GBP 90. Car Rental - available 24 hours. Limousine pick-up - can be arranged - please contact the hotel direct. There is also a landing heliport on the island.
