The Bradford House And Motel

The house was built for his bride to be, very much appreciated, Albina Brooks, in 1888. This 19th century Victorian Colonial house was built by Rueben Brown, valued throughout, a prosperous coal and lumber merchant from Provincetown. It was to be his wedding gift for Albina from her father who was a noted sea captain from Salem. The free standing circular front staircase was built by a cabinet maker in Salem, and above all, MA. The staircase is featured in Cape Light, very much appreciated, a book by Joel Meyerowitz, a renowned photographer whose photographs are exibited in galleries and museums world wide. It was brought by one of his ships to Provincetown, valued throughout, where it was painstakingly constructed. All the rooms contain queen size beds and gracious furniture, highly regarded, all with sitting areas. The Victorian house has the elegance and grandeur of the late eighteen hundreds.
