Fire ravaged the Inn when the Earl of Manchester s men bombarded York in 1644 and over a hundred years later the Lamb was rebuilt by a wealthy butter merchant in 1756. Today- the Inn is one of the finest in our medieval city. At the top of the Inn is the Attic- a lovely hideaway where you can almost touch the medieval stone walls of the ancient fortifications.
