The Cavendish Health Club features an indoor heated swimming pool, whirlpool, men's and women's saunas and change rooms, as well as a fitness room with exercise equipment.
A squash court is also available.
The use of the facility is complimentary for all registered hotel guests.

The Cabot Club, The Fairmont Newfoundland's fine dining room, features upscale local cuisine and fresh seafood.

The Cabot Club is a CAA/AAA 4-Diamond Award winner and has been voted one of Canada's 100 best restaurants. The Bonavista Restaurant
The BonaVista is a colorful Mediterranean-themed family restaurant. The layout offers comfortable semi-private seating with an open kitchen concept. Feast on traditional Newfoundland fare along with a selection of Mediterranean specialties. Sunday brunch buffet is also served in The Bonavista Restaurant.

The Narrows Lounge
The Narrows Lounge, over looking the Court Garden, is a casual place to relax and enjoy a cocktail, or a light meal. The staff are also pleased to serve you as you relax in the Garden among the lush tropical greenery.

• Quidi Vidi Village : A picturesque fishing village located within St. John's, featuring craft shops and traditional pubs. While wandering through the narrow winding roads you can visit Mallard Cottage or you can walk the Quidi Vidi Rennies River Trail.

• Signal Hill Historic Park : The site from where Marconi received the first wireless transatlantic signal in 1901, ushering-in the modern era of telecommunications. Signal Hill is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
• C.A. Pippy Park : The largest park in St. John's, Pippy Park, offers hiking, cross-country skiing, picnic areas, a fully equipped campground, and two golf courses. Within the park boundaries is the Memorial University Botanical Gardens at Oxen Pond. The site has been developed to display plants suitable to the local climate. Nature trails and guided walks are offered from May to October.
• Cape Spear National Historic Park : The most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear was used by U.S. troops to observe German submarine activity during World War II. Located about 12 miles from the hotel.
• St. John's Harbor : To get a real sense of St. John's, a walk along the waterfront is a must. The harbor, located in historic downtown, has provided shelter to explorers, merchants, soldiers, pirates and mariners of all kinds over the last 500 years. Historic buildings, coves, plaques and parks along the route help depict the history of St. John's since discovery by John Cabot in 1497.

• Marine Drive : This scenic drive begins approximately 3.6 miles from The Fairmont Newfoundland through small traditional communities on the outskirts of St. John's - the best way to experience stunning ocean scenery.
• Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist : The cathedral, which has also been declared a National Historic Site, is said to be the best example of Ecclesiastical Gothic architecture in North America. Designed by Sir Gilbert Scott, the cornerstone was laid in 1849. Located on Church Hill.
