Built on the peninsular on the north side of Lake Balaton it is famous for its Benedictine Abbey founded in the 11th century. A horse and carriage may be arranged to take you up there for an enjoyable picnic or a wine tasting while appreciating the splendid view over the Inner Lake. A popular sailing club can be found there and just round the corner is Cafe Tihany a superb Italian restaurant overlooking the Lake.
