Today the Villa itself is partly opened to guests who are able to enjoy the atmosphere in one of the 6 suites - each elegantly furnished with genuine period furniture and offering guests stunning views over the scenic Lake Maggiore - together with all the modern amenities they require for a comfortable stay. In 1827 the hotel was a wedding gift to Luisa Dal Pozzo Della Cisterna from her husband-to-be Ferdinando Arborio - who chose it to be their lakeside residence - Today it is still owned - occupied and managed by the Marquises Dal Pozzo D-Annone who have made it their raison d-etre to preserve the original atmosphere and antiquity of their gorgeous villa using high quality furnishings - furniture and paintings dating back to the 15th to 19th centuries and the original parquet flooring - The result is a unique Villa full of charm. The welcoming and atmospheric Bistrot Stendhal is situated in the restored wine cellars of the Borgo and is the perfect place to sample some of the characteristic dishes of the Piedmont region and the excellent cheeses and cold meats of the Ossolan Valley - or perhaps just enjoy the selection of Piedmont wines in the cozy bar. The recently opened 18th Century Borgo Ottocentesco is a fascinating complex of immense charm situated within the Villa park - created out of the former staff accommodation and laundry room which have been completely restored it offers 12 new bedrooms with stunning views over Lake Maggiore - all furnished with period furniture of great historical value and equipped with modern comforts including satellite TV - air-conditioning and high speed internet accessThe villa is set in a 5-hectare park which includes a swimming pool - open in the summer - a small fitness centre with sauna and steam room.
