The project- which cost USD21. Dedicated to preserving the past while updating the property for the todays discerning traveler- the Stonewall Jackson Hotel Conference Center re-opened in 2005- welcoming guests and the community back to the historic property following an extensive two-year renovation and expansion project. The property- designed by renowned American architect H. 1 million and was completed in October 2005- lovingly restored the property to its Southern splendor and features a new wing to provide additional guest rooms as well as modern meeting and function space. Stevens originally opened in 1924 and has already been recognized by Historic Hotels of America for its architectural significance. L. Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers Colonnade Ballroom- once a popular spot for special events hosted by the Shenandoah Valley society in the hotels early years- has also been restored and features graceful 20-foot arched windows- as well as the refurbishment of floors- antique light fixtures- moldings and detailed decorative ironwork that evokes a sense of Southern charm and spirit. The refurbishment of Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers 124 deluxe guestrooms and suites are complimented by a complete restoration of Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers lobby- including terrazzo floors- glass display cases- chandeliers and wall sconces. This one-of-a-kind instrument has graced Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers Colonnade Ballroom for three quarters of a century and- as part of Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers overall renovation- has been precisely restored to its original condition and reinstalled in Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers mezzanine- which overlooks Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center lobby and Colonnade Ballroom. Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Centers mezzanine has also been restored- and is now the site of the properties famed 1924 Wurlizter Organ. We are now able to provide visitors with a luxurious and modern guest experience while enjoying the preservation of the Stonewall Jacksons original charm and splendor. By restoring the Stonewall Jacksons rich historic detail Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center has entered a new era- stated Carol Simon- general manager- Stonewall Jackson Hotel Conference Center.
