• Area Attractions : Astura Tower Astura is an immense archaeological area composed from the Castle and the Pentagonal Tower that lays on the rests of a ancient roman villa, now a days used as a summer stay piace and port both marine and of land. American World II War Cemetery The American cemetery of Nettuno was born as a temporary war cemetery two days after the allied disembarkation in Anzio and Nettuno during World War II, for the fallen soldiers in the battles from Sicily to Rome. Since 1956 it has become a permanent cemetery and its maintenance and administration is directed by the American Commission of War Monuments located in Washington D.C. *U.S.A.*, In Nettuno there are the rest of 7,862 soldiers layed to rest coming from various battles. In 490 empty tomes are the rests of those who could not be identified and the rest of 12 women between the Red Cross and civils of auxiliary corps during the Last World War. Forte SanGallo Forte Sangallo was constructed between 1501 and 1503 from Antonio Sangallo, for wanting of Cesare Borgia, called Valentino. Looking at the internal construction many people catch a glimpse of the Bramante s hand. The fortress defended Nettuno during the years by the attacks from the sea. It was part of a great system of defence off the Roman coasts, it was composed also by the Rocca of Ostia, the Tower of Anzio and the Tower of Astura.
