TRAVELIN' SCENIC 21 - A SIGHTSEER'S DREAMDescribed as one of Arkansas best-kept secrets, the Ozark Highlands National Scenic Byway, Highway 21, offers 35 miles of beautiful panoramic vistas, colorful flora and rugged terrain in the Ozark National Forest. Scenic 21 leaves the Arkansas River Valley at Clarksville and climbs north, traveling over high mountain ridges that separate the headwaters of the Mulberry River and Big and little Piney Creeks. Along the drive, hardwood and pine forests are interspersed with old and new homesteads with a variety of abundance of wildflowers that pose for photographers and visitors at no charge. Scenic 21 is a refreshing change of pace for the north-south traveler from Interstate 40 at Clarskville to Eureka Springs through beautiful Boxley Valley on the Buffalo National River and is a mere 94 miles. The distance from Branson to Clarksville via 65, 62, 412 and 21 is a short morning's drive of 121 miles. You'll find friendly folks and a wealth of natural treasures along the pleasant drive
