The ClaremontThe work of local artists is showcased here giving The Claremont a distinctive feel. There*s old-style glamour in the original chequered flooring- high ceilings and ornate chandeliers of this quiet Victorian villa but recent refurbishment adds a modern twist; contemporary furnishings in rich colors. Even the more compact rooms feel uncluttered.
The 11 rooms vary in size and hue- from cozy and functional singles to almost palatial four-poster bed deluxe rooms- decorated in regal red. The bathrooms - some ensuites are new with stone floors and plush new shower units- others are slightly older- but all are clean and smart with aromatherapy toiletries- plump white towels and waffle-effect bathrobes.
The beds are comfortable with white cotton bed linen- vibrant throws and cushions.
What is there to do nearby Huge variety of good quality restaurants and bars and a wealth of bohemian and independent shops in the Lanes and North Laine.
Full English breakfast or vegetarian alternative taken in a traditional and homely dining room - Radio 2 wafts in the background.

From either the North or the South terminal at Gatwick take the spur road to the M23 - south. Take the M23 South for approximately 4 miles until it becomes the A23. Continue on the A23 following the signs for Brighton. After approximately 20 miles continue into city centre. At the Brighton Pier roundabout- take the A259 coast road westbound for 1.4 miles. Turn right into Second Avenue and the hotel is located at the top of the road on the right hand side.
