The Mickelson Trail, which runs directly in front of the Black Hills Inn and Suites Deadwood, offers converted railroad tracks to trails for the outdoor enthusiast. You will find ski runs for everyone from beginner to the most experienced skier at Terry Peak and Deer Mountain. Easy access to extensive snowmobile trails can be made on Trail 7, Mickelson Trail. Step into the past at area museums including the Adams Museum, Ghosts of Deadwood Gulch Wax Museum, Saloon Number 10, where Wild Bill was shot, Mt. Moriah Cenetery, where Wild Bill Hickock, Calamity Jane, and Seth Bullock, to name a few, are buried, and many more Historic sites. Just a short drive will take you to Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial and Mt. Rushmore.
