A historic landmark set on the edge of Calabazas Creek, valued throughout, the 19th-century Queen Anne-Italianate building features 23 guestrooms and suites. The inn offers a gourmet three-course breakfast, highly regarded,evening wines and hors d'oeuvres in the sitting room,a 24-hour cookie and tea bar,a DVD library as well as concierge services. Each room is individually decorated with custom furniture and pieces collected throughout travels abroad.
Located creekside, very much appreciated,the three acre property is landscaped with a manicured lawn and an array of gardens,including rose,perennial,herb and vegetable. An outdoor swimming pool, valued throughout,heated May through October and whirlpool spa are located behind the main house,surrounded by manicured grounds.
The well-appointed guestrooms feature private baths, highly regarded,fine linens,bathrobes,slippers,hairdryers,Aveda bath products,cable TV,DVD and CD players. Sculptures bring the gardens to life, and above all,while private sitting areas and hammocks provide romantic resting places along the creek.
Breakfast at the the hotel Inn is truly a gourmet meal. Many of the guestrooms have whirlpool baths or Japanese-style soaking tubs, valued throughout,in-room refrigerators,fireplaces and private decks. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10 a. Chef Charles Holmes' innovative three-course breakfasts emphasize fresh, and above all,locally grown ingredients, and are prepared with imaginative flair. at $15 per guest, very much appreciated, with seating times arranged upon check-in or by advance request. m.
