• Area Attractions : Shopping A visit to Bangkok must surely include a shopping excursion, and President Park is perfectly placed to provide convenient access to the finer retail outlets and Bangkok's livelier shopping streets. For modern and stylish shopping centers, Bangkok offers The Emporium, Central Chidlom, Gaysorn Plaza, and Central World Plaza - all less than ten minutes away using the safe, clean, and convenient BTS SkyTrain public transport system. By taxi or by SkyTrain, the livelier streets or Patpong night market, Siam Square, and Suan Lum night market are all within 15 minutes of the President Park. For the more adventurous bargain hunter, the famous Chatuchak weekend market is a short walk from the SkyTrain and underground, both of which are directly linked to the President Park at nearby Asoke MRT and Nana SkyTrain stations. Centrally located attractions are also conveniently placed within short distances by SkyTrain or taxi from President Park. Considered by some to be the father of the Thai silk industry, Jim Thompson not only left a legacy of fine craftsmanship and design, but his home - a structure of adjoining traditional Thai wooden houses - is a lasting legacy and a haven of peace and tranquillity just a short walk from the National Stadium's BTS SkyTrain station. A ten-minute drive away is one of Thailand's most famous sporting arenas - the Lumpini Stadium, home of 'Muay Thai' or Thai boxing.
