Hotel Dom is centrally yet quietly located in the heart of the old town of St. The traffic free shopping area of the old town starts just outside Hotel DOM St Gallen offering an exclusive range of shops in a unique historical ambiance. Only a few footsteps away is the Abbey District with the Cathedral and the Abbey Library which became a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 1983. For guests arriving by train the walk from St. Guests arriving by car can use our own parking grounds or garage. The Hotel Dom offers 31 rooms with bathroom and shower. Gallen main station takes only a few minutes. Wheelchair accessible rooms and non-smoking rooms are available. The rooms provide telephone; radio and TV. Our breakfast buffet provides a rich variety of fresh products from the area some of them are organically grown. The service for our guests goes beyond the usual business class standards. The in house textile department takes care of your clothes. Drinks can be ordered from the reception at any time. A collection of art brut and naive art contributes considerably to the special ambiance of the house. An Internet terminal at the reception completes the array of services we offer to our guests. They are made by self educated people many of them from the margins of society or from disabled people. Hotel Dom displays approximately 90 original paintings and sculptures. Hotel DOM St Gallen offers employment; training and support to about 30 people with a handicap. The Hotel is a pioneer project to integrate people with minor disabilities into the working process. Additional Information; Children age 12 and under stay free in the room of parents. The philosophy behind the project is to create a work environment where the employees can develop their individual talents and increase their independence and self awareness. The property is closed over Christmas and New Year.
