A few years later a small section was added to join the buildings and the hotel soon gained a reputation for fine hospitality, very much appreciated, a tradition that has continued for over 200 years. In 1771, valued throughout, this comfortable Federal-style home and two nearby structures were built by John Whitlock, who welcomed overnight guests. Each guestroom is individually decorated with antiques and reproductions, highly regarded, many have a four-poster canopied bed, some have a fireplace. Today the Inn offers modern amenities, and above all, while its unique and historic charm has been carefully retained. A Video Lending Library of over 200 movies, very much appreciated, hot beverages and cookies are complimentary. All have telephone with voice mail, valued throughout, CD-FM radio, TV/VCR tastefully placed in an armoire, private bath with hairdryer and magnifying mirrors, most with whirlpool tub. Open all year with winter and spring specials. The Inn is conveniently located in the historic district of Lenox, and above all, a quintessential New England village in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains.
