If you like to go shopping, Emmen has the biggest shopping mall in northern Netherlands. Here you can also visit the most popular tourist attraction, Emmen zoo, which is open every day. An open air museum, Het Veenpark, is only 15 mins away. The surroundings of Emmen are also the perfect location for a beautiful bike tour.

Restaurant / Dining Information
The restaurant van Hotel Emmen is the perfect location for your breakfast, lunch or dinner. An extensive breakfast is served every morning from 6.30am until 10.30am. On sundays we organise a brunch from 11.30 - 14.00 hours and we have a family dinnerbuffet from 5.30pm. The brunch, as well as the family buffet, consists of several warm and cold fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is opened 365 days per year.

From direction Zwolle: Follow the A28 in the direction of Hoogeveen. At junction Holsloot you'll proceed in the direction of Klazienaveen/Meppen( A37). After 5,7 km, you take the exit Emmen/Erica/Schoonebeek (hectometersign 28,2). Then you take a left turn, and the first turn right onto the Verlengde Herendijk in the direction of the Rietplas/Parc Sandur. At your righthandside you will see the Van der Valk Hotel Emmen. From direction Groningen: Follow the A28 in the direction of Hoogeveen. At junction Holsloot you will proceed in the direction of Emmen/Ommen. From here on - see description above. From direction Emmen: Follow the Hondsrugweg in the direction of the suburb Bargeres. Take a right turn at the traffic lights onto the Ermerweg. Once on the Ermerweg ( 50 km/hrs allowed: watch out for the speed-control posts ) you take a left turn after 1510 meters. You are now on the Nieuw-Amsterdamsestraat (once again speed-control posts). After 4940 meters you take a left turn (onto the Verlengde Herendijk) in the direction of Rietplas/Parc Sandur. At your righthandside you will see the Van der Valk Hotel Emmen.
