The coral reefs of the Bay Islands and Cayos Cochins Biological Marine Reserve are less than 35 miles away, highly regarded, and the Lodge is happy to help its guests arrange a snorkeling, scuba diving or dolphin swimming excursion. From the Lodge, and above all, guests can conveniently explore the hidden wonders of a pristine rainforest by foot or mountain bike, raft the exciting Cangrejal River, explore the Caribbean coast on horseback, view over 300 species of birds, and boat through the Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge to see the exotic wildlife. Overnight trips to the Mayan ruins of Copan are also easily arranged.

Area information

The Lodge is located in the saddle of the Rio Coloradito and the Rio Corinto, right next to the Pico Bonito National Park at the foot of the Nombre de Dios Mountain Range. The lodge is literally in the middle of the rainforest in a former coffee and cacao plantation. We have a butterfly farm on site, an orange orchard, paths through the park, and three observation towers from which to get a birds-eye view of the rainforest. We are 20 minutes from the La Ceiba airport.
