Nukubati Island Resort

Originally occupied by a Fijian warrior clan, very much appreciated, the island was assigned to a German gunsmith, Jacob Steiner, in the mid 1800s, by the famous warring cannibal chief Ritova. The story behind Nukubati is a fascinating tale of Fiji's turbulent past. Now Nukubati is a private island resort, highly regarded, a natural extension of a gracious and simple style of colonial plantation living. Jacob and his island bride settled in the area and the island remained a family concern through five generations until this day. Nearby is the Great Sea Reef, very much appreciated, reputed to be the third largest barrier reef in the world. Catering for a limited number of guests, valued throughout, Nukubati is locally owned, preserving its incomparable Fijian style in an atmosphere of total seclusion. With the largest solar power plant in the South Pacific producing its electricity, highly regarded, Nukubati is an environmentally conscious resort. Nukubati is the only resort in Fiji with access to this vast underwater treasure, and above all, where manta rays, dolphins, whales, turtles and innumerable fish species parade around the corals. A 35 acre colonial style island resort lying off the north coast of Fiji's second largest island of Vanua Levu. Set in spacious grounds of a one-time coconut plantation. Direct seaplane transfers from Nadi International Airport and return. Only resort with access to the Great Sea Reef, the third largest barrier reef in the world.

Travel information

East : Guests will be transferred directly from Nadi International Airport via scenic seaplane flight to the beach on Nukubati Island. This will be the only option for travel to Nukubati Resort. Clients arriving from another resort in Savusavu must advise Nukubati well in advance so that transfers can be organised.
